Top 5 Blind Trends for 2025
· VL Blinds
Five directions in blinds this year, and what each means when you choose.
1. Textured fabrics
Woven and textured roller fabrics and natural-look slats are replacing flat, glossy finishes. Texture catches daylight and softens a room. Ask to see a sample in your own light before you decide.
2. Motorised control
More homes now choose motorised blinds, run from a remote, a wall switch or a phone app, sometimes on a timer. Check which controls a motor supports before you order.
3. Hidden fittings
Ceiling-mounted tracks and recessed pockets keep the blind out of sight when it is raised, which suits plain walls and tall glazing. They need to be planned before ceilings and walls are finished.
4. Earthy neutrals
Beige, sand, taupe and off-white are popular, and they sit well with timber and stone. Look at them against your own walls and floor, since the same colour reads differently in different rooms.
5. Natural and recycled materials
Wood and bamboo slats, and fabrics made partly from recycled yarn, are available from some makers. If a material is sold as recycled or sustainable, ask the supplier what that claim is based on.
